Privacy policy

Uniquely Chic Florist & Boutique is a family-owned flower shop on Brimhall Road in Bakersfield, California. This policy explains what we collect when you visit uniquelychicflorist.com or place an order, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
The short version
- We collect what we need to take your order, deliver it, and answer questions about it.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can ask us to show you your data, correct it, or delete it. Just call or email.
What we collect
When you place an order. Your name, email address, phone number, billing address, the recipient's name and delivery address, the card message you want on the arrangement, and your payment details. Payment card numbers are handled by Shopify Payments and our other payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
When you browse. Your browser type and version, IP address, time zone, the pages and products you look at, and how you arrived at the site. This comes from cookies and similar technologies.
When you contact us. Whatever you choose to tell us in an email, a contact form, or a phone call.
How we use it
- To take payment, build your arrangement, and deliver it to the right address.
- To confirm your order and let you know when it has been delivered.
- To answer questions and sort out problems with an order.
- To screen orders for fraud, which is a requirement of our payment providers.
- To send you shop news and seasonal offers, but only if you asked us to.
- To understand which pages and products people find useful, so we can improve the site.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the companies that help us run the shop:
- Shopify powers our online store and processes payments.
- Delivery and pickup scheduling tools pass your chosen date and address to our drivers.
- Email and analytics providers send your order confirmations and show us anonymous site traffic.
We may also share information if the law requires it, for example in response to a subpoena, a warrant, or a lawful request from a government agency.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use them to keep your cart working, remember what you were looking at, and measure how the site is performing. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site such as the cart may stop working properly if you do.
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it, so we do not currently change our behavior when we receive one.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond as quickly as we can.
If you are in California. Under the CCPA and CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of those rights. Because we do not sell personal information, there is nothing for you to opt out of, but you are welcome to ask us to confirm that.
If you are in Europe or the UK. We process your information to perform the contract we have with you when you place an order, to comply with our legal obligations, and otherwise where we have a legitimate interest in running the shop. You have the right to access, correct, port, or erase your data, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Your information may be transferred to and stored in the United States.
Marketing emails and texts
We only send seasonal news and offers to people who asked for them. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and you can also just reply and tell us to stop. Order confirmations, delivery notices, and replies to your questions are not marketing, so you will keep receiving those as long as you have an open order.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for our accounts and tax records, and for as long as we might reasonably need to help you with a past order. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are legally required to keep a record of a transaction.
Children
Our site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our shop or the law changes. The version on this page is always the current one.
